wrong command dsmserv extend log

what's wrong with :

dsmserv extend log e:\tsmlog\log3.dsm 1000



it's Win2k SP3 and ITSM 5.1.6.4



please help

I was tempted to say "Win2k".....just kidding.

Log and database volumes have to be allocated with an additional 4 MByte extend. When you want to use a 1000 MByte log volume you have to allocate a 1004 MByte dataset which you can define to the TSM server. After the definition of that volume you can extend the recovery log by 1000 MByte. The maximum size of the recovery log is limited to 13 GByte. Compare to chapter 16 of your administration guide.

i try it works

it' s amazing on Win2k ! Seriously , my customer is full win2k so i had to do with that !

no trace in admin guide or ref guide about the 4mbytes of more space

but i still look for a while
