I'm trying to determine what type of failure would be generated if a Cluster failover occurs while an Exchange backup is running.

I have this situation, but the actlog is reporting numerous attribute changes for TCP name/address during backup and while the logs don't report any failures of the backup process, the scheduled event failed with 402.

this page reports the same problem
http://www.backupcentral.com/phpBB2...sm-13/tsm-tdp-for-exchnage-issue-today-62669/

and with this interesting (for me) extract

[Exchange backup is failing with HRESULT: 0xc8000230
Technote (FAQ)

Problem
Incremental backup fails after a failover. In the schedule log :

ANS1909E The scheduled command failed.
ANS1512E Scheduled event 'EXCHANGE_MON_DB_INCR' failed. Return code =
402]

can any body expand on failures associated with cluster failovers?

thanks

Or maybe this caused the failur - there's no clear trail from the event log.
Microsoft.Exchange.Cluster.ReplayService (3720) Log Verifier E06 42078160: A request to read from the file "H:\SG7_Logs\inspector\E06001046F8.log" at offset 200704 (0x0000000000031000) for 65536 (0x00010000) bytes succeeded, but took an abnormally long time (83 seconds) to be serviced by the OS. This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.
