There are lots of files in /home/aixdba...

And yet...

tsm> q backup /home/aixdba/*
ANS1092W No files matching search criteria were found

Any help much appreciated as ever.
Thanks.

hi,

i guess you should insert an include statement

max

Shouldn't an incremental backup everything except the excludes?
Otherwise why have an exclusion list?
And if I have to use includes, doesn't that mean that I'll have to implicitly include every directory I want?
What about if new directories are added? I'd have a big admin overhead of keeping my include list up to date.
And the stuff that has been backed up isn't in any includes, it just did it.
Can't understand why it would do those and not others.

Should I have an include *?

Hi,

is /home/aixdba just a folder under filesystem mounted as /home or is it a standalone filesystem?

moreover, can you give us an example in the /home/aixdba filenames?

and what happens when you backup /home/aixdba/* directly? (incr /home/aixdba/* -su=yes)
and when you run "full incremental" afterwards .. are these expired?

many questions :)

Harry

hmm, actually looks like it is a seperate filesystem.

Ok, got it, thanks guys.
Running the backup now, I'm optomistic that this will sort it.
