Hi Guys!

I am having some "issues" with Win server 2008 nodes. If we look at one of them. Below you can see the backupresults for a couple of days.
Suddenly 13-02 (friday ;) ) the server desides to backup more than 50 times more data than a normal day! When I look at the log files then the huge number of data is mostly because of the folder Windows\winsxs\. Also some of it because of: Windows\System32\DriverStore\

If I look at a "normal" day thoose folders aren't even backed up! How come suddenly TSM wants to backup those folders? I am always running with the option -nojournal and I have seen this on others server without the journal started. So it can't be the journal thats acting weard. I am using DOMAIN ALL-LOCAL.
Some advise would be great! :)

It's also inspecting 50 000 more files. Something may have been installed that day. Did you see 50 000 files being expired a day later?

Nope, normal amount of expired files.

I started the gui (5.5.1.2) and looked at the winsxs folder. That folder seems to be excluded by default because it is not excluded in the opt file or any optionset. Also there is no posibility to either include or exclude the folder with the gui. So it seems to be something TSM just deals with. Probably after something is installed on the server then it does a "one time" backup of the winsxs folder.
