Hi!

Hope this has not already ben asked before.

Is there a known problem with backing up the systemstate on windows 2008.
The backups are very large (more than 8 GB) for a non full backup.
Have anyone else seen this problem?

/regards

Hi,

This is normal size of the system state backup on windows 2008. You would see large size particularly for SYSTEM FILESET. According to MS the size would vary from 8GB-12GB.

The data mainly consists of the following:

5 GB - WINSXS
2.5 TO 3GB - System32
1 GB - syswow64 - only for x64.
boot information - in MB

Hope this is helpful.

Regards
Mridul

Even after extensive search on the web I could not find anything to help me with these erros

After a mad 3-days-long debugging session I found the problem: dsmcert.sth file in the client directory. This file is created by the key import part of the SSL procedure.

You need to change the permissions on this file and allow the local SYSTEM group on the node computer to have read and exexute rights for it.

After that, my schedules run as normal.

Just had to share this somewhere as I could not find anything useful about this error on the web.
