I'm trying to find a procedure for doing a recovery of a Windows 2003 Server Cluster for Disaster Recovery using TSM.

Currently our procedure for recovery of a normal Windows 20003 server is to do the following:

Repartition, format hard drive

Install Win2003, set computername to original

Install appropriate SP

Install tsm ba client

dsmc restore c:\ -replace=all -subdir=yes

dsmc restore systemstate

dsmc restore systemservices

Reboot

This needs to obviously be tweaked for a Windows 2003 Server Cluster and didn't know what to do differently. For example, do I need to restore the cluster information after the system services and then reboot or reboot and then restore the cluster, etc. etc.

Any guidance, articles, etc. would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks a ton.

As far as I know (have done restores on a 2000 cluster) you cannot successfully restore Windows clusters. You must rebuild it.

The reason is the quorum environment that has to be setup from ground up.

What you can do is follow your setups in restoring the base system, and then install cluster services and create the cluster. After you create the cluster, you can now restore common files.
