Hi , Im just curious to know how far as a TSM administators do you go to support the TSM client. Currently at our IT shop the server client piece is supported by the DBA, Sytsem admins and not by TSM support. This is currently being reviewed and our psoition is that the client data is not our concern but rather the TSM DB and all other Storage issues are our concern. Mind you this is huge IT shop with very defined IT roles. Anyway I hope there are responses as I curious to know how other companies handle this issue.

Thanks Again.

We have a clearly defined role here. The support of TSM lies in our group all the way out to and including the client. This does not mean we do the backup and restores of the client and client files but if the client has an issue we fix it. This causes my group to have Windows, AIX / Unix/ Linux, Novell and MAC skills. It also keeps the finger pointing to a minimum as well as allows the same person to trace an issue from begining to end.
