Hi i've now managed to get the celerra communitcating with TSM, however when I start a backup we get the following error (after it times out)

8/05/09 09:31:43 ANR8844E Unable to open remote drive DRV115 (c48t0l0), error code=2. (SESSION: 1463, PROCESS: 9)

The command we're running is:

BACKUP NODE datamover-01 /root_vdm_2/bm_fs16 -mgmtclass=nas mode=full toc=no

Any ideas where to trouble shoot ?

From posix spec, error 2 is a "no such device". Are you sure you have drives zoned to the Celerra and matched up the device on Celerra side to the correct drive in TSM? Also, what type of tape drives are these? I know from EMC that the Celerra's currently do not work with IBM 3592-E06 drives.

Yes postive on the zoning as the celerra can see the drives and library. The library is an IBM 3584 with drives of 3592-E05. If E06 dont work does this mean that these also wont work?

E05 are ok, I just had to dig through several layers of EMC engineers to get confirmation the E06 are not yet supported. Through off my library plans completely!

So, your paths on TSM library manager... the device specified does in fact point to correct drive? I think the drive list I got from our NAS admin listed them by serial number not WWN, so I had to do some extra mapping via library Specialist to match them.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but have you heard anymore about Celerra support for 3592-E06s? I can't even find E05s in their support matrix, however, I'm sure they were there before and we are using them successfully.
