I'm dealing with HSM for Windows.

Lets say a file no longer falls under the policies you have setup for it to be managed. Also the file gets recalled by a user. Now the file exists in 2 places. On the server and on your HSM stgpool. Does it ever expire from the hsm stgpool?

How do you reclaim the space once a file is not being space managed?

Based on the product manual and the red book, it seems that there is no mechnisim to expire the data. This is not a native IBM product and IBM have bought this product and the code does not seems to be as good as the B/A client. you may have to ask IBM support to answer this question. Based on all available document it seems that the file will remain in the space managed filespace and if this is the case then its a big problem

On windows files stored into ARCHIVE copy group and only one retention parameters in action, and i can bind files to other management class - its bad. Only default in action and NOLIMIT retention in management class, because all files stored there.
