Hi,

Let's say I have a windows 2003 fileserver containing a file.
When HSM processes the file, it's migrated to the HSM archive storage pool, and a stub is created instead of the original file.

What will happen if i delete the stub from the fileserver?
Will the file be also deleted from the HSM archive pool, or will it remain there as long as it says in the RETVER option?

You loose the pointer to your HSM backup. You need to run another backup.

Hi,
If you run another backup nothing will happen in HSM pool. The stub was deleted.

Depending on your HSM version and reconciliation config it will either remain in your HSM pool as per your policy retention or it will be deleted when reconciliation runs.

it will be deleted when reconciliation runs.

I still don't understand.
What do you mean in reconciliation?
A backup process that will run on the fileserver or an expiration process that will run on the TSM server?

My goal is that a file will be deleted from the HSM pool when the stub is deleted.
