What do your Operators do?

What do your data center operators do, regarding TSM?

Do they do the daily tape checkins/checkouts? How do you have them setup to do it?

What other TSM-related things do they do?

Our Operators do check ins (scratch or "restore" tapes) and check outs, label new tapes when asked to and keep an eye out for server availability though we get paged anyway if server was to crash...

Check In and Check Out emails are sent out daily to the operators so that they know what should come in and what should go out to vaulting...We use TSMManager to handle these steps...

My operators were in charge of Miss/Failed reruns in addition to media rotation - and in some cases Metric collection and first line support for restores.
