vss vs lagacy backups

I am using TDP 5.5 for exchange agent for exchange 2007 server

Lagacy backup and VSS backup but the VSS backup option is disable why?

and what is the difference b/w lagacy backup and VSS backup

Disabled because TDP for Exchange is a Database type backup

Legacy is the non-use of MS Volume Shadow Service to backup system files.

VSS backup option is disable because you must install TSM for Copy Service for use it.
VSS doesn't support incremental backup but can make local and remote full Exchange copy manageable by TSM.
You can use both backup method together for reach you requirements.
