Hi,

I've searched the forum for similar issues but I haven't found anything.

I'm experiencing some issues with VSS and Shadow Copies on our Exchange environment that I would love to shed some light on. Basically 1 on the volumes on our Exchange environment recently filled up with 190 shadow copies (circa 40GB). This happened to 2 of our front end severs which was only using VSS for System State backups. How is this possible? The client was installed as a default install with a standard option file.

There is similar behaviour on 1 of our 2 Mailbox server? I'm backing up our DAG's from the passive node and this is the sever that is having the issue. The active Mailbox server is fine?

Hi,

I'm just wondering has anybody come across this issue before. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but, this happened to me recently in our Exchange 2010 environment. I believe this was fixed in BA client 6.2.4.0 so I applied the update and then manually cleared the snapshots. There are definitely others out there with the same problem - http://blog.barfoo.org/2012/01/26/doing-tsms-job-on-windows-server-2008/
