First off... apologies for vagueness of question.

I keep hearing that other backup products have superior capability when backing up VMware servers but am not sure what those capabilities are. Can someone clarify that for me.

Also... for virtual solaris and AIX servers (non VM), are there any documented best practices? e.g. how best to backup zones. Thanks

Networker and Netbackup have yet to releas their support for V-sphere (I may be a few week behindeher, pls correct me). As allways they have better installation tools, "wizards" to help with the installation hence the percived superiority. TSM will always win on the fact that the only limit is the administrators ability to read the documentation and use those functions most suited for the task, not aimlessly searching in the menus and clicking on anything that looks like what they need.

The biggest hurdle is the ability to restore a file from the images taken with vcb without providing enough storage to recreate the image.

Excuse my rant :)
