We are currently migrating 2 TSM servers into 1 larger server running TSM Server Version 7.1.1.
The 1st server we have started to migrate is a 5.5 server, we are not exporting the data just pointing the clients at the new 7.1.1 server then waiting or the expiration to reach our retention then the data will be deleted.
The 2nd server move is bit more difficult as its only function is to backup one VM datacentre with over 120 VMs, this TSM server is running TSM 6.2.5, the VM environment is ESXi 5.0 and the TDP VMware version is 6.4.1.
We would like to move the VM guests in batches to the new TSM 7.1.1 server, probably by VMHOSTS.
Is it possible to split VM datacentre backups between 2 TSM servers?
