Virtual volumes (db) and reclamation

In addition to backing up to local tape, I am testing backing up my TSM db to a virtual volume in another state.

I have db backup expiration set for 3 days. This works fine for local tape reclamation. My question is how do I reclaim the virtual volume tapes in the remote location to make them scratch tapes again ?
