virtual tape mount request.

hi all,


i was out of scratch tapes in the edl vtl again . and i didnt have any slots to create new tapes and label them . i moved some old virtual tapes to the virtual vault and created new tapes to be usable as scratch . now there is constant tape mount request for the virtual tapes that i have moved using the move media command. the operators doesnt have access to the virtual library and they call me up anytime to check the virtual volume in . i would really appreciate if i could get any solution on this.

i am new to tsm so i doesnt really know if this is a dumb question :redface:

You did "move media" or "move drmedia"?

i did move media . these are virtual tapes . so i dont know if we could do move drm on virtuals . can you please clarify ?

I was expecting "move media", but just wanted to confirm.

Can you share the command that was issued?

Also, I am not able to understand exactly from this:

Is this not possible to bring the volumes back in using "move media" command again?
