This shows me a destination pool (tape) that is not lanfree ready. The explanation is:

Library not set to SHARED=YES for destination storage pool.

This is an LTO device class, and there is no SHARED variable. SHARED variable shows for FILE device classes, so what does the "validate lanfree" result actually mean?

To use the library for LAN-Free the library has to be set to SHARED=YES. The reason is that the storage agent is considered a stripped TSM server and will be "sharing" the library with the TSM server. I hope you created a library manager instance to handle just the library, drives, and paths and the client instance is seperate. If not it's fine, its just a lot nicer to deal with a library controller instance.

UPDATE LIBRARY <LIBRARY_NAME> SHARED=YES

Thank you. I read the result wrong. Keyword "library". Geesh.

Actually no we only have one TSM server that handles it all, but your advice does sound alot cleaner.
