Does anyone can help me on this device configuration?

Or anyone have the correct detail step to configure IBM3581 LTO2 with TSM5.2.2.0?

With other customer, I can implement this same environment,

My trick on implementation customer is,

1. do not install TSM device driver

2. we should do a "specified Serial No" of 3580 tape drive in 3581 library on define drive. (get from 3581 hidden library menu)

but for this customer on same TSM server env and tape libraty.

I can not successfully use a tape drive.

Does anyone have any suggestion for me, please?

environment

===========

TSM Server Version: 5.2.2

TSM Server OS: Windows 2000

Library: IBM 3581 LTO2

Windows Ultrium Driver (both changer and tape drive) Version: 5.0.6.7

defind steps

===========

The configure device driver steps look fine.

tsmdlst found that 3581 library address is "lb4.0.2.2" and LTO2 drive is "mt5.0.2.2".

- I'm defind library, then defind library path with autodetect Library Serial No.

- I'm defind drive with "specified Serial No", then defind library path with autodetect S/N.

everyting return successful, then configure other remaining policy configuration.

problem

=======

On media checking, media label, client backing up it display looping error

ANR8963E Unable to find path to match the serial number

defined for drive MT5.0.2.2 in library LB4.0.2.2 .

ANR8963E Unable to find path to match the serial number

ANR8963E Unable to find path to match the serial number

defined for drive MT5.0.2.2 in library LB4.0.2.2 .

Tape Library are moving target tape to drive element, physical drive are ready

but TSM server doesn't writing data to tape.

Does anyone suggest me for something?

NTB,

I've already try to use latest Windows Ultrium Driver version 5.0.8.8, the same error occored.

Thankyou for advance

Did you disable the Windows Removable Storage component (RSM)?

It may be taking over the library before the IBM LTO driver can

attach to it.
