Upgrading client 4.2 to 5.1

I need to upgrade a 4.2.2.8 client to 5.1.6.9, this client works under a W2K environment.

After reading some documentation, I decided to do the following:

1) Copy my baclient folder to another location

2) Desinstall the 4.2.2.8 client

3) Boot the server

4) Install the 5.1.6.9 client

5) Boot the server

6) Configure my opt's



I'm going to do this very early (6am) so no harm will be done with the reboots.

Am I missing something?

I just performed an upgrade like the one you described, but the machine where the old client was installed didn't have the MS Installer correctly configured, so I had to clean up the registry with the MS Windows Installer CleanUp Utility (Windows Installer CleanUp Utility ), deinstall the old client and perform the new installation. I backed up my opt's prevously, of course.

I upgraded last friday, it was very easy and very fast, just desinstalled the previous version and installed the new one,

now all my backups perform normally, no more crashes because the systemobject
