We are currently running into some issues, our tsm server is a dell 2450 (dual 866's with a gig of ram) attached is a powervault 210s for our diskpool (400gb or so) then our tape library is a ibm 3600. We currently have about 70 servers we are trying to backup nightly and well it just isn't happening, backups take anywhere from 1 hour to 36 hours depending on the box. What i would like to do is get another tsm server and break up the backups in half, meaning have one tsm server backup one half and the other backup the second half. However is this feasable? Can both of these servers be connected to the tape library and play nice with each other? Can anyone suggeset any options or experiences reguarding this?
