Unknown System Error trying to back up Solaris client

When I begin a manual backup of a Solaris 8 client as well as a Solaris 9 client, it will back up a certain amount (usually less that 400 kb on the Solaris 8 client and about 50 Mb on the Solaris 9 client) and then stop with a message:



Unknown system error

Please check the TSM Error Log for any additional information.



When I run the backup from a schedule, TSM informs me that the backup was complete, but in fact, the client logs give me this message, as well.



The client is TSM version 5, release 1 level 6.2.



The server is TSM version 5, release 1 level 5.0 and runs on an AIX system. Anyone ever come across this problem?
 
Did you try excluding /etc/mnttab in your dsm.sys?



exclude.fs /etc/mnttab



This problem was detailed in APAR IC36511.
