I have a Solaris client that suddenly decided that it's not going to backup. The scheduled backup has missed for several days. As a test, I tried a selective backup from the client and found that it does not work. It starts, gives the message "Selective Backup function invoked" but does nothing else. It does open a session to the TSM server.
I've had similar cases (still do on occasion) on Windows clients, and when I test from the client, the same thing happens. As far as I can remember, that problem was always on systems running TSM journalling and the issue was something wrong with the Journal. I'd delete the journal, and let it re-create. Everything was ok after that.
On my Solaris clients, I have no journalling setup so that's not the problem.
Any ideas?
