Unable to start dsmcad on AIX node - error "the subsystem is not on file"

Hi,

We are facing as issue with a node backup being 'Missed', when we look at the client schedule log it is not updated and apparently the service is not running and when we try to restart it gives an error "the subsystem is not on file".

TSM server version is 7.1 and so is the client
Platform - AIX

I tried to browse for information on this but couldn't find a solution. Checked dsm.opt and dsm.sys and compared with other nodes which are working and the entries seem to be identical and fine. Please advise what could be wrong with this node.

Is the TSM Client a new install?

On the AIX system that is hosting the TSM Client, what kind of file system are we using?

What is the version of AIX that is hosting the TSM Client 7.1 ?

Did we run an fsck on the file system to see if there are any corruptions?
In the AIX error report are there any errors regarding the file system?
