TSM windows client options file configuration doesn't show the domain for backup (it shows blank)

As a part of the client option file configuration, Domain for backup shows empty. it doesn't show any drives on the client.

In the dsm.opt file, if the parameter DOMAIN is not listed, the default is ALL-Local.

Are we looking at the TSM Client GUI?
Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing? So that we can better assist.

Thank you for your response. Yes, it is the TSM GUI client. I was able to fix the issue by manually creating a dsm.opt file

But now I am running into another issue with backup.

I am using AWS Tape gateway VTL for IBM spectrum protect server following this link:

But the backup job terminates with the error below; but what I understand AWS Tape Gateway drive emulation doesn't support append-only mode. and I have the setting disabled.

First thing that comes to mind, are we emulating a supported tape library and tape drive?

Supported tape devices and libraries

If the library and/or tape drive are not listed, its not supported and good luck because the results are unknown with unsupported devices.

If we are emulating a supported tape library and tape drive, what version of the TSM/SP B/A Server are we running.

I would suspect the following APAR.

IT28491: ANR8996W AND ANR8994W MESSAGES OCCURRING EVEN IF CHECKTAPEPOS SERVER OPTION IS SET TO NO

The above APAR is address at 8.1.8.

If we are above 8.1.8, then I would suspect

IT30398: I/O ERRORS GENERATED WHEN THE TAPE DRIVES IN A VTL LIBRARY DO NOT SUPPORT THE DATA-SAFE MODE

The above APAR is address at 8.1.10
