TSM Upgrade 5.2 - 5.5

Hi there, I have to do a TSM upgrade from an existing v5.2 to v5.5
Am I correct in assuming this will need a version-by-version upgrade, or is it possible to go from 5.2 to 5.5 in one upgrade??

Your help much appreciated.

i think you need to upgrade 5.2 to 5.3 or 5.4 before the upgrade to 5.5

You can go directly to 5.5, but be prepared for the install process to take a while depending on how big your database is. There are quite a few schema changes so tables will be converted. You probably should upgrade to the latest 5.2 fix first, then go to 5.5.

TSM 5.5.1 is due out soon, might be worth waiting for unless you're in a hurry.

Did you have any ETA for 5.5.1? if you compare 2 year in human evolution... this is quite fast.. But it can be a life time if your an hamster...

I have no idea when it will be out The new release schedule means that it should be out soon though.

For the sake of your TSM database integrity, i.e. tablespace info - I would not jump from 5.2 to 5.5 - I would make small steps - go to 5.3 - then 5.4 then 5.5.

With each version - tablespaces are restructured slightly so small steps will not potentially loose any data for you.

TSM 5.5 is still new - I would not expect this version to move very quickly
