What version of Spectrum Protect? Starting at 8.1, SNMP is no longer available (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEQVQ_8.1.0/srv.common/r_techchg_srv_snmp_810.html), so you may want to look at a different long term solution.

If you are not at 8.1 yet, you can configure SNMP for now. Follow this:
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowled...m.itsm.srv.doc/t_events_logging_snmp_mgr.html
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowled.../com.ibm.itsm.srv.doc/t_snmp_configuring.html

Just be careful, some of the steps are platform specific and are identified as such.

I know this documentation, precisely I do not find it clear
I have not configured it, so I can't comment on the steps. My recommendation would be to follow each step one by one, make sure not to skip anything. It probably requires an understanding of how the SNMP server works too, the steps would mainly focus on what's required for Spectrum Protect.

I find that tsm is not very user friendly, i have never found a solid solution to inform users.
tsmmanager is for administraor , i also tried DPA (emc) but it's very limited , OPcenter i'd rather not talk about it :)
It would be nice if ibm found an open and usefull solution for client's reports and facilitates the administration of the clients.
