What ports on a firewall need to be open for the TSM schedule to work correctly?

The scheduler works in two ways depending on what option you have in your dsm.opt file.



SCHEDMODE=(polling or prompted)



polling mode your client node periodically queries the server for scheduled work, where prompted mode the server contacts your client node when it is time to start a scheduled operation.



You have to have your 'TCPPORT' for you server open between the TSM Server and TSM Client. The default is 1500. This will allow Tivoli Storage Manager scheduler communications in both polling and prompted mode to work.
