Hi all,

does anyone run TSM on Linux x86 platform? On which hw and linux distribution?

I am trying RH EL3 on IBM xSeries but having a lot of problems (weird problems) ....

Has anyone seen this working?

Thanx

Harry

I'm currently running TSM 5.2.2.5 on SUSE 9.0 & RedHat Linux 9.0 (soon to be migrated to SUSE). What kinds of problems are you seeing?

Hi,

I am running TSM 5.2.2.4 on RH Advanced Server 3.0

my problem are:

1)memory leak - it consumes my 1Gb of RAM and 2GB of swap in two days

2)server falls (completelly, not only TSM) - mostly no error messages, no warnings .. sometimes only NMI on CPU0 for unknown reason 35. It CAN be HW problem, but I have tried THREE COMPLETELLY DIFFERENT machines (IBM x340 - PIII, IBM x335 dual Xeon, Advantech server 2xPIII), no piece of HW unchanged, library tested with other sw.

3) after loading tsmscsi driver to memory it says "not a supported device" - but my Overland Neo4000 IS supported from 5.1.7 ....

BTW. how did you manage to run it on RH9.0, used just RH AS kernel with RH9.0 distribution?

It seems to me there is some kind of bug in tsmscsi driver (server is working good without it, but I really need the tape  )

Any help appreciated

Harry

Since I'm not using tape drives it doesn't really matter what kernel I use. All of my servers are IBM Intellistations. My most stable platform has been RH 8.0; I've only been using SUSE 9.0 for a couple of weeks now (so far so good though). I've never had any memory problems on the server, however I do get random times where the activity log stops displaying new entries.
