Hi

I'm trying to get the STK L180 recognized by tsmdlst but not finding the
correct TSM device driver for the same.

I used the OS driver but the media changer did not get recognized by TSM.Tried installing the latest drivers from IBMTape.x86_6184 but none of the drivers listed match STK L180 or SL500.

Am I missing something?Appreciate if anyone could help me get the correct TSM driver for STK libraries (I have verified these are supported).

Thanks

I've installed an SL500 recently on a Windows TSM server. Try using tsmscsi.sys device driver. This should be installed when you install the TSM Device Driver. When updating the medium changer driver on Windows, try to install from a specific location, then select 'Don't search'. Select 'IBM Tivoil Storage Manager for Medium Changers'.

Got the same problem with a L180 connected to an AIX Box or a Windows 2003 server X64.
I can see the library but not the drives (IBM LTO fibre connected)

did you installed tsm device driver on aix? which version?
and what lsdev -Cctape says?

Hi,
i had the same problems with sl500 stk l80.
when you install the ibm driver take a look to your deviceconfig of windows.
in my case the ibm driver has install 2 bus enumerator driver.
1. tape bus enu.
2. bus enu.
the bus enu was flag with yellow. as i have delete it and after reboot every thing works fine.
my driver version are:
Library IBM Corp. Date: 31.08.2007 Ver.: 5.4.2.0
This driver works with my three Libs.
Tape driver
IBM Corp.
Date 12.05.2008 Ver.: 6.1.9.3
This driver works fine with my LTO2 and LTO 4 Drives.
For my LTO1 the drive is Microsoft..

with kind regards
michael

I have tried several AIX.
The main one is a 5.3

I have installed Atape.11.1.3.0.bin but not sure about tsm driver (another person did it)

lsdev -Cc tape gives nothing (blank)
I was able to configure manually the arm (lb) using smitty
but no drives are visible

cfgmgr complains:
cfgmgr: 0514-621 WARNING: The following device packages are required for
device support but are not currently installed.
devices.scsi

it seems to be a mixed libary: the library is connect to aix using scsi and drives using fibre inside the lib

Thanks for your help

On windows W2K3 x64 (and 32bits)
I can see the libary using device manager but not the drives. Nothing is flagged yellow.
using tsm driver I can see the drives using TSM devices configuration but they are unknown.

there is already an IBM LTO3 using TSM on this windows box. this works fine.
