TSM Client on nt 4

As far as i know the highest client version that i can run on nt 4 is 5.1
does anyone know if this will backup to a tsm 5.4 server

TSM is normally a 3 revision system meaning that TSM 5.3 server can work with 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4 clients. This means that a 5.4 server will work with 5.3 and 5.4 clients. It might work but it might not. If it doesn't work, IBM will tell you to upgrade.

As always, checking the official IBM support grid is the best bet.

I have a 5.3 server backing up several 5.1 NT clients. I was told (some years ago) that TSM was backward compatable one major release. At one point I had 4.x servers backing up 3.x clients without issue.

I have heard the same thing that Aaron said from IBM tech support.
