Hi all,

I have TSM 5.1 server installed on AIX 5L and one of the clients is installed in an Apple MAC server running OS X.2. I have tried to use the MAC OS X Scheduler Daemon but always faile to start at the scheduled time. The other alternative suggested by the installtion guide is to use the MAC OS X scheduler but when double clicked the program seems to start and disappear after few seconds without leaving any proccess.

Also when trying to do a backup using the Backup-Restore cleint, the program seems to terminate unexpectedly at various points.

Is there any compatibility problem between TSM Cleint 5.1.0 and MAC OS X.

Any feed back will be appreciated.

Regards

Jafar

I am having similar problems with a Mac OS X client. I cannot get the daemon to run or the scheduler.

Did you resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Sorry Nettie, Long time since I checked this page.

I found that our MAC server had two processors, therefore we had to add some flags to the TSM User Preferences file:

TESTFLAG MACSLEEPRCV:n

TESTFLAG MACSLEEPSND:n

Where n is a number, greater than zero, that is needed for your system. The default value is 0. usually 4 will work for most cases but try to set to the lowest you can as this will affect your system performance.

The above flags is to stop TSM quiting on fast processors 866MHz+

Hope this will do it.
