Is anyone running the TSM BA client on 64-bit Debian? I have been able to use alien to convert the rpms to debs for 32-bit Debian with no problem, but when I try to do it on a machine running etch-amd64, alien fails with:

current build architecture amd64 does not appear in package's list

I have a bunch of Debian machines I am going to need to back up, and more and more of them will begin to be 64-bit. I'm hoping someone has found a workaround.

I poked and prodded at this problem, and came up with a fairly ugly workaround.

I copied the necessary files from the directories that alien creates when it tries to convert the rpms to their proper installation locations (e.g., /opt/tivoli/tsm/client).

Seems to work fine, though.
