I'm migrating from TSM 5.1.7 to TSM 5.2.1.2. My IBM 3582 works just fine with TSM 5.1.7 but after I have installed the TSM 5.2.1.2, I always got the following message when I try to do whatever task that need to use the tape drive like a simple label. Thats the message:

NR8873E The path from source PHXTIVOLI to destination LTODRIVE1 (mt1.0.0.2) is taken

offline.

Well, I can asure that the tape was online before running the label command.

here, I Have a SCSI host Adaptec AIC-7892 Ultra160/m. Im using a IBM Ultrium device driver at level 5066 for both changer and tape. The system have indentified the changer as Changer0 (lb1.1.0.2) and the tape as Tape0 (mt1.0.0.2). My OS is Windows 2000 Server. The library firmware is at level 38D0 and the drive firmware is at level 217B.

Does anyone knows what is happening?

You have to delete/redefine the drive and paths. This is because of changes in drive and path definitions and added functionelity.
