Hallo everyone,
i work with TSM for nearly a yeahr now. I rate myself as Beginner.
Now to the Problem:
We have a small Serverfarm (12 around) backing up runs smooth (Caching over night, migrating over the day).
Clients are AIX/Sun/NT4/W2K/XP/TDP
Version: Server 5.1.7.0 (just migrated, the Problem occurred befor too)
Version Clients 5.1.6.0
Restoring makes trouble with files 200MB and more. We have an Adic Scalar 100 with LTO 200 GIG Tapes. The Tape gets picked and it starts reading. After ca. 40 MB is the first 60 second stop. So i put the COMMTIMOUT in the DSMSERV.OPT file to 300 seconds. Then it runs thrue till 210 MB around. There was then a stop for over 300 seconds. There it stops and starts from 0 again.
Is it normal that such Lags occurre ?
What is a good amount of Time ?
Has anyone else that Problem and maybe a solution ?
Oh by the way: I miss a Client in the Summary Table.. gone since the migration but it still works and has entry's in the Activity log.. weird
