The number of Scratch tapes reduces drastically

The number of scratch tapes reduces drastically with out being actually used by the TSM and after the recycling the TSM server the TSM shows the correct value of Scratch values.



Why does this happen??and is there any other way of doing this without being recycling the TSM server.



This problem use to happen once a month..

now this happens once three days...

run a "q libvol" right are you reboot the box and everything looks fine. record the output (cut and paste or whatever).



Now, when it screws up run the "q libvol" again and compare it with when it worked ok.

This might give us a clue. Otherwise, scan the activity log for the past 24 hour (q actlog begind=-1 ) for clues.



If just a reboot fixes the problem, then you might try running just an "audit library" make sure to use the checklabel=barcide flag if you need to (depends on the type of library).
