I couldn´t find the answer in the ibm documents, maybe you read something...

Does the latest tdp for ve support vsphere5?

Hi,

as far as I know - official line is no (latest TSM for VE does not contain the Virtual Disk Development Kit - VDDK - 5 release) - so there may be a problem with virtual HW v8 (native to ESX5).
Ask the IBM for the release date of the new version (should not take long).

TSM 623 with ESX server 4.1 and vSphere Center 5

Hi,

now I test TSM 623 with ESX 4.1 and vSphere Center 5 results:
- fullvm backup ok
- fullvm restore ok

My vmware guy told me that upgrade esx server is much easier than center.

Hi,
But be careful, the important part vStorage API version is included in ESXi. And there is difference:
TSM Client 6.2.3.1(3) doesnt work with vStorage API v5 (ESXi 5). Use TSM Client 6.3.0.0 and newer (from IBM ftp).
((TSM Client 6.3 (and TSM for VE 6.3) support VMware backups on Linux Backup proxy server - finally!!!))
