Tape Library errors

I get the following error on the library display

sac : 81 00

code : 0x9078



And the following message come up on the q actlog

ANR8943E Hardware or media error on library BILB3583

(OP=00006C03, CC=-1, KEY=04, ASC=40, ASCQ=A0, SENSE=70.0-

0.04.00.00.00.00.0A.00.00.00.00.40.A0.81.00.00.00.,

Description=An undetermined error has occurred). Refer

to Appendix D in the 'Messages' manual for recommended

action.

I too have had a series of errors with the 3583 library. Hardware and media errors

KEY=04, ASC=40, ASCQ=A0, have you had parts replaced? are you running this on Windows 2000? Im curious if you have had this resolved or if you r errors are ongoing

Ca24487, are you using a 3583 library on a Windows 2000 server with TSM 5.1 or 5.2?



are you getting your errors during specific operations, or at specific times during TSM processing. Im very interested in finding out if others with the 3583 library are having problems too. It is fairly new and no one in our part of the country knows much about it?
