Hi. I need the expertise to help for TSM Server. Everytime when I halt and restart the server, Process 1 run automatically. Also I see the two .DSM volume went offline for some reason, and these two offline volumes are no longer exist. I issued 'cancel pro 1', and the command was hanging there and no response at all.

I am not sure if I need to resolve off-line volume first, or process 1 first.

Is there any workaround for this complicate issue? Please advice

Thanks.

Hi

Process 1 is just your inventro expiration process running, it is just cleaning out old struff
from your database. If you do not have a preformance issue during the start jut leave it running.

Are you sure that you only have one TSM server running?
The message below means that the file (database volume) exist but can not be opened
for reading and writing.

ANR9969E Unable to open volume \\BUFFALO\TSM\TSMDATA\SERVER1\DVOL3.DSM.
The most likely reason is that another TSM server is running and has the volume allocated.

If you are realy sure that you are running the only TSM server on the machine
then you can delete the volume by issuing the command

del vol \\ BUFFALO \TSM\TSMDATA\SERVER1\DVOL3.DSM

If you are unsure do not delete the volume, bring somebody on site to help you.
If you messup you will have a data loss.

Hope this helps and that I am not to harsh on you. :)
