Spreading database load

Hey

I have bit of an issue with database load not being spread equally among LUNs. I have three LUNS, all are SSD drives in RAID1.

G:\ Original
H:\ Added later
I:\ Added recently.

Extend dbspce did spread the database over all luns but the G:\ is way more heavily utilized than others. I think it is now the biggest bottleneck I have.

Is there a way to spread DB even more or do I need to drop the DB and restore it from backup?

According to the documentation the DB re-balance should be performed by DB2 but it would take time (days or weeks), but it can be forced.

For me, on most cases using backup/delete/restore is the fastest solution.

Yeah, in theory it should balance the DB among directories but it doesn't seem to happen in practice. Sure, there is some load on newer luns but even after many months the original lun is way more utilized than others.

I think I'll do delete/restore.
