Hi,
Using ndmp backups today to backup our Ontap 7.3.1.1 volumes. Working fine, but it's generate a lot of data for the backup server. Running daily differential and full every second weekend.
Since the TSM 6.1 client can perform incremental snapshot difference, we are looking to replace/complement our ndmp with the diffsnaps.
Have setup the client/filer as required, but still problems.
When executing the command(cli):
> incr -snapdiff X: -diffsnapshot=create
I got the following error msg.
06/25/2009 16:02:52 ANS2840E Incremental backup using snapshot difference is not supported for ONTAP Filer version '0.0'. Please upgrade your Filer 'nas1' to ONTAP Filer version '7.3' or later in order to perform incremental backup operations using snapshot difference.
06/25/2009 16:02:52 ANS2832E Incremental by snapshot difference failed for \\nas1\tsm61. Please see error log for details.
06/25/2009 16:02:55 ANS5283E The operation was unsuccessful.
Nothing in the syslog on the filer.
I have done the same on our Netapp Simulator running Ontap 7.3.1. It works fine on the Simulator.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
