Reusing 'reclaimed' offsite tape volumes

Once a tape has been reclaimed (status=empty) in an copy storagepool, how does it state become changed. In other words the tape state is VAULT, and will once its empty, does reclamatin change the state to VAULTRETRIEVE.



my reusedelay setting is 0.



I have scripts the move tapes (move drm) to and from my offsite location.

Once statement i use is MOVE DRM * WHERESTATE=VAULTRETRIEVE. This changes the state to ONSITERETRIEVE. The tape list is sent to the location courier who delivers the 'scratches' back to us.

The parameter drmdbbackupexpiredays is what controls how long the tape stays in the 'vault.'



If this is set to 60. Then on the 61 day the volumes with the 'vault' status will now have a status of 'vault retrieve.'



If this is set to 60 and we lower this to 30.

The tapes in the vault is not going to take on the new settings.

The tapes are going to stay in the 'vault' status until after 60 days.



When I start making my new series of tapes, these tapes will stay for 30 days.
