restoring tsm client databse

when you restore a library client tsm database does it restore data over the san from FC tape - or does it restore from the library manager using the man?

Hi,

IF I understand your question correctly:
When restoring TSM DB for Library client, all server-to-server definitions are in devconfig.out - there is the library definition of the shared library and connection to Library Manager (with hashed password). Paths to drives of the library client are defined on library manager.
Restore of DB contacts Library Manager (via LAN), LM mounts the tape and notifies the LClient about tape mounted (via LAN) - then LClient opens the tape using SAN and restores the DB.

spot on - thanks... confirmed what i thought but couldn't prove...
