We have a customer running a large Exchange 2010 server which is being backed up by TDP for Exchange 6.3.0.2. They have a number of archive mailbox databases, which are not backed up to TSM for space reasons.
They would like to have local backups of the databases instead, and I have seen in the DP client that there are options for backing up to local VSS snapshots. But the option to backup locally is greyed out when I click to select the backup destination. I have read a bit about it in the manual, but have have not been able to find what the requirements are for being able to do local backups. Is there a license (Flashcopy?) that is required, or is there anything special that needs to be set up on the client system for this to work?
