Replication performance issues

We're trying to replicate two servers, running 6.3.3.100, but we're seeing quite low performance. Our average speed is about 31 MB/s, even though both servers are on 10 Gbit links and the storage is on RAID1 volumes. On other servers with the exact same hardware and configuration (but with higher load), we're seeing nightly user backup speeds of 600 MB/s, so the hardware is clearly capable enough. Looking at the network bandwidth of the source server, we can reach transfer speeds to the target of 300 MB/s, but most of the replication time the server is not actually sending any data. Presumably, it's putting together the list of files to replicate. In order to improve the performance of this, we put the DB on an SSD volume. However, this only increased the average speed by about 10 MB/s.

So, the question is, what kind of replication speeds are you seeing and what does your configuration look like? What do we need to do to make this faster?

Is your database reorganisation working correctly ?

You can see it by issuing "Q DB F=D" and check the last database reorganisation. first you should have a date and it should be less than some weeks, more likely some days before.

Hi Guys

I appreciate it this is an old thread. I am seeing same issues. backup performance is good, but replication is poor

DB Reorg. done a couple days ago

any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks
