Hi Guys,

we are sitting here and have a big problem....

We have replicated ALL data from VTL1 to VTL2 using an internal function of the VTL.
Now....what must we do to get VTL2 running ? The serial number of VTL2 is other than those of VTL1...

Which steps must we do to get access to the (replicated) virtual tapes in VTL2 ?
Must we change the serial number of the library ? Or must we change the path to the new library ?

Using TSM and "q libv VTL1" shows all virtual tapes
Using "q libv VTL2" shows ....nothing....

Anyone can give some advice ?

You would need to define VTL2 as a new library with a new path, the same for all the virtual drives. Remove the paths to VTL1 and it's drives. Then checkin the volumes into library VTL2. Checkin scratch first, then privates.

You can delete the original VTL1 from TSM as well after removing the path, this will clear out VTL1's tape inventory from TSM, so when you look at Q LIBV, you will only see volumes in VTL2, it will be less confusing.
