Rename Windows Client

Hi all,



I have to rename a Windows 2000 Server with TSM Client 5.2.3.4 on it.

The nodename in TSM will be the same but TCP/IP name will change. (TCP/IP Address will also be the same)

My Question is, is it possible to change a TSMclient to the new TCP/IP name?

So are you just making a DNS name change?



For the most part TSM doesn't care what DNS name is used. It only cares about the NODENAME in the dsm.opt file and if you are using the right password.



If you're really concerned you can update the node's TCP/IP Name:



You can check what it is currently by 'q node <nodename> f=d'
