Dear all,

I'm a complete newbie to TSM and would like to know if there is a way how to change the assignment between the TSM name and the SSN/WWN in a Windows 2000 environment. In the example below, I would like to exchange the two mtx.x.x.x with each other.

Output from tsmdlst:

Computer Name: SERVER001

TSM Device Driver: Not Running (TSM information may not be accurate)

TSM Name ID LUN Bus Port SSN WWN TSM Type Device Identifier

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

mt0.0.0.6 0 0 0 6 1110121916 5005076300546B03 LTO IBM ULT3580-TD2 52S4

mt1.0.0.6 1 0 0 6 1110123939 5005076300546B05 LTO IBM ULT3580-TD2 52S4

I hope this is a not too stupid question, but I couldn't find any hints in the documentation.

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Dear all,

we have the same question . We setup Lanfree backup. The TSM clients are running on two Microsoft 2003 cluster Nodes . The device assignments are different on both nodes. see below.

When we have to move one resource to the othe node we need the same device names.

Node 1:

mt0.0.0.6 0 0 0 6 1110121916 5005076300546B03 LTO IBM

mt1.0.0.6 1 0 0 6 1110123939 5005076300546B05 LTO IBM

mt10.0.0.6 10 0 0 6 1110255827 5005076300546B39 LTO IBM

mt11.0.0.6 11 0 0 6 1110250729 5005076300546B3B LTO IBM

Node 2:

TSM Device Driver: Not Running (TSM information may not be accurate)

mt0.0.0.6 0 0 0 6 1110123939 5005076300546B05 LTO IBM

mt1.0.0.6 1 0 0 6 1110121916 5005076300546B03 LTO IBM

mt10.0.0.6 10 0 0 6 1110255827 5005076300546B39 LTO IBM

mt11.0.0.6 11 0 0 6 1110250729 5005076300546B3B LTO IBM

Thanks in advance for any idea

Matthias

You could try to fully uninstall all the tape devices then disable all the drives. Next bring online and configure each drive one at a time.
