Again, I'm new with TSM. If you run an audit library with a checklabel=barcode (so it doesn't mount the tapes), and another job is run, will the new job fail? Or will the audit be put on hold, and continue after the new job?

Also, I'm sure this depends on the hardware involved, but how much time does/can an audit take? We have a 3494 with around 300 tapes in it.

Thanks

Tim

An audit is a high priority process and will not let any other library processes run until it is done. The other processes should just wait on the audit to finish.

As for how long it takes, on a 3494 with just checking the barcodes, it's the same time it would take to perform a full inventory on the 3494. On one of my 3494s (6 modules, 1500 tapes) it can take upto 30 minutes. (an audit with mounts would take several hours, maybe days)
