Newbie here on the forum and not much of NDMP expert either.
I'm trying to restore an entire file system from tape. No online index/media info at all.
Environment: LTO5 tapes to EMC VNX NAS. Windows 2012R2, Networker 8.2.1.0.
So far I've done the following:
scanner -I \\.\Tape1
mminfo -avot --- shows the media info with the file system to be restored.
However, when I run nsrndmp_recover it just stop or hang and will remain there over night. No tape is being loaded to drive, no jukebox activity at all, nothing. Yes, the jukebox is communicating fine with the server. I can run inventory, scanner, etc and see the tapes being moved in and out of the drives one after the other.
I've gone through each tape (show Save Sets) to make sure it was successfully backed up and restorable.
But I noticed there is no tape with "haNs" flag which indicates Tape-1 of the batch. All have ciNs, and tiNs for the last of the batch.
My question is can the restore be possible even though the first tape is no way to be found? If so, can someone please point me in the right direction.
